Mobile optimization has always been in the picture as one of the most important SEO trends. Google has steadily been moving to a mobile only world and the launch of its Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project has reaffirmed its intent. The AMC project provides an open source initiative where publishers can create mobile optimized content bringing down the loading time and in turn the bounce rate. This will help prevent the switch over from mobile searching to other native apps.

Optimization for the user will also be given due importance. Your digital strategies will largely focus on understanding your customers, their wants and needs and using this data to get a better idea about the customer intent. Keywords are still very important but these days the consumers more often than not know exactly what they are looking for because of which search engines understand the intent better than ever. Hence very often you find direct answers at the top of the page with alternative links that follow. The related search data can help identify problem areas and eliminate them in order to boost ranking and improve consumer search experience.

The Mobile-first index that rolled out in Nov 2016 changed the data dynamics. Google will now make the mobile version of websites or responsive versions the primary source of data collection before the desktop ones and this data will be used to place you in the search results. This will again increase the importance of having mobile friendly websites in place.

Voice search is something that has been around for some time now, but its true power is being identified only recently. The impact of voice search thanks to the convenience that it provides is bound to make it stand out.
